Dust for the fine filament residue and plastic grit that covers everything after a long print session. It’s the everyday reality of tinkering, modding, and making.

Ember for that glowing hot end, the spark of a new idea coming to life, and the quiet fire that keeps a maker going late into the night.

This all started as a personal passion for 3D printing—one that followed me across the country. From the high deserts of New Mexico, where I first dove into taking printers apart and upgrading them, to the frozen wilds of Alaska, where long winter nights gave me endless time to experiment and design. Then down to the wide-open energy fields of Texas and Oklahoma, places that fueled my love for tough, practical builds and custom gear that could handle real work.

From red desert dust in New Mexico to the glowing aurora embers over Alaska’s dark winters—and the flare-stack fires of Texas and Oklahoma—this path has been pure Dust and Ember.

As my skills grew, I started designing my own pieces. People noticed the quality, the attention to detail, and the one-of-a-kind vibe. Word spread, orders trickled in, and before I knew it, a little side hustle was born.

Demand kept climbing, so we scaled up fast—from a single printer to three, and eventually to a full farm of seven. Today we run exclusively on Bambu Lab machines: the lightning-fast P1S and the precision powerhouse X1C. They’ve been the backbone of everything we do.

The hunger for even more creative options led us to add an xTool F1 Ultra fiber/diode laser engraver to the shop. Suddenly we could cut, engrave, and personalize everything from tumblers and metal business cards to notebooks and custom knick-knacks—giving customers truly standout pieces.

Most recently, we took the leap into apparel. We brought in two Poolin EOX 15-needle embroidery machines and an xTool Apparel Printer, opening up a whole new world of custom hats, hoodies, jackets, and tees.

What started as a one-person obsession with 3D printing has grown into Dust and Ember—a small team dedicated to turning ideas into high-quality, personalized reality. Whether it’s a laser-engraved tumbler, an embroidered work hoodie, or a fully custom 3D-printed creation, we pour the same passion into every order.
